In Los Angeles, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 6 amβ3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Jay's Plants at (213) 612-0353; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 45 reviews, which is a strong result for a plant nursery in Los Angeles and suggests consistent service.
Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Iβve been to a few nurseries around the area and they were good but none of them beats this place on pricing. The plants at this shop are healthy and vibrant but the part that blew me away were the prices. I came home feeling guilty and felt like I shouldβve left a tip since the prices were so low, Iβm not sure how she could make a decent living. I got this custom made bad boy for $25. She combined 3 plants into a pot, you do the math.

Best prices ive seen for plants and they are well taken care of. Mom and Pop shop with friendly staff. They make sure to help as much as they can. I come here for my plants when I need them for events as well as house plants.

I went to this plant shop after going to another and they had better prices. I loved the selection and the friendliness of the family working there. The first day I went I was quoted $120 each for the plants I wanted. The very next day I was quoted $125 each. I bought 2 and ended up paying $274. Im not sure how $250 got to $274 with tax, so I would be mindful of their sketch tax calculations. Overall I got the plants I wanted and the lady even helped me load them into my car. Thank you!

Very friendly family operated store has a nice selection of popular house plants including succulents. Plants all looked fresh and healthy at good prices. I purchased a mature money tree, very happy with the quality; no pests.
